A cursory search will reveal a young, passionate entrepreneur, the brains behind the majestic Signature One – ultra-luxury residences in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad; fitness freak, style icon, playboy…a list that paints a rather complex picture of a person who is many things. Yet, peel each of those many layers, and one would see the same grit and determination behind each of those characteristics that go to make up the person – Rohit Reddy.
Ironically, a Google search would first throw up another Rohit Reddy, who is the husband of a popular Hyderabad-based actress. The only thing common however, is the name. RR as Rohit of Signature Developers, prefers to be known as, is one who lets his work speak for himself. Ask anybody in Hyderabad about Signature One, and there is no confusion about it being one of the most exclusive and super luxury residential apartment complexes in one of the poshest localities of not just Hyderabad, but in India.
As a person, RR prefers to be out of the limelight. When not at work pouring over blueprints and specifications of his next iconic construction project, he can be seen at the construction site, personally supervising details. His personal time, away from his work, is mostly in his gym, where he spends hours, sweating out to hone his already perfect body.
Occasionally, he would not be seen at all, when he’s out traveling to exotic locations – his way of relaxation.
Yet, for those who’ve known RR for a number of years earlier, he was a very different person then. A jet setter playboy was who Rohit was in his younger days – he was mostly seen either cruising the hills of Banjara and Jubilee in his Ferrari or painting the skies red in his private plane. But streaks of entrepreneurship and the determination to be the best at whatever he did was seen even then. He translated his personal sense of style into opening one of the most upmarket fashion stores in Hyderabad – STRIP, way back in 2004, where top fashion designers were just names that one occasionally saw in magazines from Bombay.
A personal tragedy and destiny changed RR’s story. He shed his carefree image to become one of the most respected businessmen of his city. But the journey was not easy. His biggest battle was in getting people to take him seriously. His own family was not very convinced of his plans to build a super-luxury apartment in an area, which is arguably where the rich and famous already lived in palatial bungalows. But self-belief was never RR’s weakness. He put in not just his heart and soul but sweat and labor to turn his vision into reality. And prove he did to all those who doubted him. Signature One sold out well before completion, with the who’s who of Hyderabad choosing to make it their address. And there has been no looking back.
But to answer the question of who Rohit Reddy is, the answer lies in not what RR has already accomplished; it’s in what’s to come - Signature Horizon, contemporary-designed, upscale residential apartments, set on a hill-top at Dollar Hills, offering exquisite views of the historical Golconda Fort and Qutb Shahi Tombs; and Signature Estate – hi-end, luxury villas housed in a 100-acre gated locality. His future plans are however, not bound by location. Hyderabad would be just where this journey began. RR has set sights on putting his footprint in other metros of India.
